- 7stages from proposal to the end of the guarantee period
A vessel newbuilding is one of the largest and longest projects a shipowner will ever undertake. It runs for years and spans the owner's office, a shipyard on another continent, a classification society and dozens of equipment makers. Between the first proposal and the end of the guarantee period, the programme passes through a recognisable sequence of stages. Newbuilding management is the discipline of keeping every one of those stages, and the evidence each one produces, under control.

The Varuna Sentinels Newbuilding platform brings this whole journey into one collaborative workspace. Proposals and the contract register, the hull-by-hull build journey, site-team reporting, class coordination, non-conformances, inspections, FAT, sea trials, certificates and the guarantee period are held together, so that owner, yard, class and makers all work from the same current status.
The pre-contract phase is just as structured: proposals are built from a proposal master of reusable content and move through four fixed stages — Draft, Sent, Approved and Awarded — so the path from enquiry to award is complete and auditable. Once a proposal is awarded, the contract is entered in a per-project contract register, the hulls are set up and the kick-off meeting is recorded, and the build journey begins with its history already in place.
Part of a wider compliance ecosystem. The platform also works alongside VS IHM Maintenance, HKC compliance and VS ESG Ratings, rather than standing alone as a single-purpose tool.
